| | | I know this is more ghost/paranormal than Urban Exploration, but has anybody did the Crybaby bridge thing on the Screamin' Maud Hughes road in Butler county Ohio? I drive past it every day to go to my Girlfriend's place. Just wonderin if anything unexplainable has happened there/Story behind the road's name. Stuff like that. Thanks.

| | | Yes, we parked at Wetland, walked to the bridge at dark. Sat under, up in the pinch and listened to the infrequent traffic pass above. Nothing paranormal just normal. If you walk the tracks you may find a few dead turtles between them, we found a live one and tossed him in the woods. If you go there, save some turtles, then you can say you "did" it.

Yes,just north of. Walk the tracks. Save the turtles. Man put in the tracks and Man can save the turtles. Don't worry about messing with the natural order of things, Bradbury would smile.

| | | What's the story on the place? Why is it a crybaby bridge? I know it can't be THE Maud Hughes who did it because the place is obviously Maud-Hughes Rd.

The personal responsibility train left the station years ago, and you gave it the finger as you watched it leave. |

Don't make much for soup meat when they're crushed on the road...

| | | Unless i'm missing something there is no way in hell anyone could drown by accident in that "river" it ankle deep at the most. I'm gonna get my friends to go with me and hang out for awhile, see what we can see.

| | | I grew up in - and still live in - the area where the "Screaming Bridge" aka Maud Hughes bridge is located. It is reported to be haunted due to one or more people who have jumped from the bridge because of being jilted by a lover or whatever. The stories of the bridge are legendary and have been covered in the local newspaper going back to the 1970s at least. Maud-Hughes is named for two long-gone train stations that were on this stretch of rail; one was "Hughes Station" and there is still an unincorporated area called "Maud", located in West Chester Township, at the intersection of Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Tylersville. For those interested, traveling further north on Maud-Hughes road will lead you to Kyles Station road, named for another long-departed train stop. Yours in UE, jjcoolj
