The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

| | | Sad news to report... Cheez--It and I drove out to White Settlement this evening with the intention of shooting the old Carswell Weapons Storage Area, and as Cheez--It had suggested might happen several weeks ago on the DB entry, it is largely gone now. The buildings & water tower are all demolished, though the bunkers appear to still be largely intact. The entire site is littered with mounds of dirt and building materials, and the framework for a new steel building has been erected where the main concentration of buildings had been before. She's no more.

| | | laaaaame. i'd heard of this place. it's not too far from me either. i really need to find new places to explore. i just keep going to the same ones over and over. it's getting kind of repetitive and i think i've seen all there is to see.

| | | Ok... to clarify... I think I've seen all there is to see that I'm aware of... Let's just say I'm pretty ignorant to what else is out there. Not to mention my car's AC just died, so random day trips and exploring will be cut down quite a bit until I can afford to fix that little inconvenience. What, the windows don't roll down? (Just kidding... but I did survive a Texas summer with no A/C -- and no FM either. I had to go to work extra early, and sweat all the way home. And worst of all, listen to AM radio. The horror!)
J'ai toujours fait une prière à Dieu, qui est fort courte. La voici: "Mon Dieu, rendez nos ennemis bien ridicules!" Dieu m'a exaucé. |

My friend in high school had a car that only played Radio Disney on the AM radio. Torture.

Actually, my kids were the right age, so I did listen to a good bit of Radio Disney. And since it was summer, I could get a Rangers game if I got off late. But it was amazing how little news you get from a commercial "news" station, compared to a public radio station. Anything you lose in occasional pledge drives is more than made up for by the lack of "Coming up after these messages, our reporter will talk at length about a cute puppy! Stay tuned!"
