| | | Anyone know anything about Cavalier hotel? I heard about it from a friend who wants to check it out but is too scared about security patrols. If you have any info that you think might be useful i would appreciate it a whole lot.

| | | Just drove by the old Cavalier yesterday and it's definitely still open. I thought I did hear there were some renovations going on recently, though. That might be cool to check out.

| | | Ok I went to the hotel a few nights ago with a few friends and my fiancé, the old hotel is not in use currently and there is some renovations in progress but no night working crew. We explored just about every corner that we could of this hotel and found no one. I would like to add that it is extremely hot in this place but one of the rooms the temperature dropped to almost 60 degrees. This place is extremely unsettling as we walked down the halls the doors shook violently and there was no breeze moving through the hall way. I will say being up in the tower was awesome and provided a great view of the boardwalk. These pics are very few and not that good I wasn't taking the pictures my fiancé was (this time I won't do the thumbnails because it is irritating for some). Most of the pictures didn't turn out to well for some reason the camera was way out of focus on multiple shots, I don't know what was causing it but it wasn't moving during the picture taking. 1.

| | | I love that last picture. The working AC mounted inside of the cage of a non-working AC and venting the hot side indoors. Now that's loving the AC.

| | | I have read some were the story of the Cavalier Hotel being haunted, some type of murder in the 30's when it was the only hotel in VA Beach. Do you remember what room was 60......?

| | | There's a lot of stories about this hotel. I've actually legitimately been there, and did some exploring. Supposedly room 666 is where one of the Coores brewing company family members fell from the window to his death. A girl supposedly drowned in the main pool. There are all kinds of stories of people hearing ghosts, parties going on etc. in the middle of the night. There are some really cool Banquet rooms there from back in it's heyday a long time ago, that have kept there original look. At least until i was there a few years ago. There's also some really cool stuff in the basement. Supposedly soemone fell down an elevator shaft to thier death. It was also used during one of the wars to house soldiers. Do some google research and you can get more details.
