I have lurked on this site for awhile now and I haven’t seen much urbexing in Oklahoma. So if there are any okies out there or anyone else that would be interested, check out a fairly new site www.abandonedok.com . Its a very well done and profession website, of which I have contributed to and plan to contribute to more in the future. Its growing by the week, so join the forum, leave comments, or just look around.

Oral Roberts hotel??

Yeah, I'm scratchin' my head on that one, too. 2X, am I just showing my ignorance, or did you mean the Camelot Hotel -- which wasn't ever part of the Oral Roberts empire?

(I'm from Tulsa, but left in 1986 to find my fortune at the track in Bossier City.)

I like the site... VERY professional.

I do a lot of exploring in Oklahoma, though mostly it's contained to SE and SW OK. Cache, near Fort Sill, for example, is a cool place; the abandoned amusement park there is certainly worth a visit (just go to the Indian Trading Post - the owner will probably take you on an excursion).

I just recently added a page on Bromide, Oklahoma, to my site. It's not nearly as nice as the Abandoned OK site, but hey, it works, I guess. Here's the link, if anyone's interested:

http://www.redrive...n.com/bromide.html

(modified to clarify where Cache is)

The Camelot Hotel, was not Oral Roberts property, sadly though it was torn down like a year ago. They are building a Quick Trip in its place.... There are two former Oral Roberts properties downtown though, which have been abandoned for decades.

Because as everyone in Tulsa knows, there's a huge shortage of QTs in town.

(But really, there wasn't much left of the Camelot, from what I've read. Especially after all the fires. Eventually, you just have to give up.)

Lmao, yeah, like we need another QT... It is a shame they tore it down. There were some potential buyers out there with the intention of restoring it, but that obviously never happened. It my on going goal to photograph and document every last abandoned building in Tulsa before its too late. I only wish that I had gotten photos on the inside of that hotel before it was torn down. I never got around to it because I knew of some fellow explorers that got busted getting inside, apparently the place was always being watched.

I wonder if by Oral Roberts Hotel he ment the Citi Plex/City of faith buildings. I work there presently and about half the complex is in use. There are some floors that are still unfinished from the start of construction in the late 1970s.

Well welcome to Oklahoma. Despite what people may think, there is a lot of stuff here to explore and a lot of which is practically untouched (with some exceptions of course) compared to larger more densely populated states and cities. I suppose I should post some of my stuff here on uer, but I never have because there doesnt seem to be much interest for OK on here...
