| | | If you're willing to make the trek, Glenn Dale Hospital is about a half hour drive from Germantown. Beware of Park Police patrolling the area, and park down the road at the shopping center down Glenn Dale Road, across 450. Definitely a neat place. A friend of mine (as all tales seem to go) has been there many times and several times heard children laughing in the Children's Ward. Regarding safety, a mask is definitely advised (the place closed due to asbestos and a crumbling frame). Also, have heard mixed reports about whether the police can enter the buildings. My friend says that they can't because insurance doesn't cover injuries incurred from inside the buildings but a site or two I've seen said that they do enter now and have police dogs. Went just last week and would have seen more but they were doing K9 training on the east side of the Children's Ward so my friend and I couldn't enter. Hope this overload of info helps ;)

| | | 1) Glenn Dale is not cool. 2) The security there are police officers. They can enter the buildings. 3) I know someone who had a cop pull a gun on them at Glenn Dale. 4) I've also heard those kids laughing in the Children's Wards. It's mad creepy.

| | | The asylum in Rockville has been demo'd a while back. There are a bunch of expensive houses in its place now AFAIK. I don't think there's much of anything around there area, not that I've found anything worthwhile exploring at least...

Unless they are talking about Chestnut Lodge, which was an asylum in rockville - but it's gone (as of last night). Been to Glenn Dale before and never had any issues. We left due to some loud local kids that came walking around. Within minutes of getting off the grounds, guards showed up. Just one of those places it may be give or take, and having someone that really knows where they are going to show the way.

silly hydro, you've been in NY for too long now. everyone around these parts know that MD explorers don't actually explore anything, we just sit around here and post about it.

I am sorry Things are so much more intricate and dramatic up this way. So many things to burn and poop on, it's UE bliss! You should come visit. I'll save a model for you to poop on, too.
