We have those neighborhood watch signs all over our my town. Its funny to think about how the neighborhood is the one doing the crime and me the suspicious looking kid in all black clothing late at night is doing nothing at all. It's kinda the opposite here, haha. It's like a man breaking into the bank and holding people at gunpoint to make a deposit while the cops are stealing from the city.

Neighborhood watch don't mean shit, rednecks with shotguns sitting on their front porch in a rocking chair next to a jug of XXX moonshine mean shit. Thats the true neighborhood watch.

We are mole people!

I usually pimp my camera hard if people are watching I act like I am supposed to be there and get my tripod going. So far..

Signs have a tendency to get removed or spray painted. Another option is to call the number (if there) and say you are a location photographer scouting a location. Most of the time places are very abandoned and just have not been taken by the city yet.

I am very glad I wandered into some locations as they were burned down by crackheads with candles - at least I have photographs.
