| | | | Beach Army Hospital < on 4/12/2009 1:30 AM >
| | | One of the last times I went to the Baker Hotel, I decided to drive around and discovered this building inside a complex called "Wolter Industrial Park." I had no idea what it was, but after driving by it just once, I saw that the main doors at the entrance were missing, there was no kind of perimeter around the complex, and from what I could tell, people had used the place as a junk yard for years. I talked to a guy who works nearby (he saw me pull up and came over to talk... he thought I was interested in purchasing the place) and he told me some interesting stuff about the guy who owns the building. Send me a message if you want to know the history. It's a lot to type up here and I don't feel like it....

| | | Very nice stuff! For some reason I just love the greenish paint that covers the walls in many of these places. You've captured it beautifully! What is the dead thing? I was trying to figure out if it was a cat or a raccoon...

| | | That truck seems to be being slowly scavenged. It sure has been there a while.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

Actually no, it's Beach. It's constantly referred to as the Beach Army Hospital in the portal to Texas History: http://texashistory.unt.edu/ And here's a vintage postcard where you can make out the "ea" on the name if you look close, not to mention the back of the postcard where it refers to it as the Beach Army Hospital:

| | | That's a sweet postcard. Great find. I wish you could still make out the writing on the side of the building today. That place is just so cool. It deserves more of my time soon......

| | | It's a common mistake it seems. It's listed as "Beech Army Hospital" even on the Mineral Wells website, and you get more hits regarding the actual location if you Google with "Beech."
