Grain Elevators Gallore

Just to the east of my college campus are several grain elevators along I-35. I discovered one day that the fence around one of them had been removed by vandals or squatters. I grabbed my camera and went exploring, and this is what I found. **NOTE** All pictures are in their original format. I'd just bought a new computer and had not yet received the latest Photoshop, so there was little I could do... But I think they turned out pretty well in their raw format.

Thanks!
I get bored easy so I'm always looking for something to do. The baby heads are actually candle holders with a hole in the top for tea candles. I can't make them fast enough.
*EDIT* I've already gotten bored with concrete and moved to sandblasting broken glass and silk screening on it. Next I'm making some mini mummys and have some ideas about metal sculpture.

I think the part baby / part other critter idea will sell

you really should put a doll head on:

- armadillo

- coiled rattlesnake

- chimpanzee

I would if I could find the headless yard art. That's where the stork body/ baby head came from.

ooo.. you should put a baby head on a pink flamingo. i was just thinking of this garden shop in austin along a highway and they have literally dozens of pink flamingos stationed along the perimeter of the place.

Wow... I have a picture almost exactly like the black and white shot looking up at the square buildings. We must think alike when it comes to photography. I'm not sure if I still have it or not... maybe somewhere in my photobucket.

Anyway, great set, even before any processing.

I like the doll heads, too.

an update on this location...

as of about two months ago, the property was purchased, by whom i'm not sure. however, new fencing has been put up, all overgrowth and plant life has literally been stripped from the property (with the exception of grass), all tracks running through the property have been paved over with asphalt, all garbage has been picked up and put in a dumpster now on the grounds, and a surveillance system is now in place.

damn it all.

Wow, really? I didn't think anyone cared about it at all... I know they tore down a part of the cotton gin ( I think it was... ) a couple of years ago, but I figured this thing would be here until it crumbled.

i'm convinced this place will be here forever without human intervention. it will outlast the pyramids even..... although the pyramids have a few thousand years head start. but still... mere pennies in the scheme of things!
