I drove all over Rockford once, and although I don't recall seeing many obvious wide open abandonments, there were plenty of older industrial buildings that might have been abandoned and explorable if you figured out how to get in. There's a big strip of industrial SE of downtown, and a few smaller buildings on the west fringe of downtown. I want to be different. Those are usually much more up to date, and you are able to see quite a bit. They don't cover everywhere though.
