This will be my 2nd exploration on my own so I want a safe place if possible. Any Suggestions for The Durham Region area? Including scarborough? all the way to Cobourg would help this new UER out! Thanks N1Hawk z0th  Location: /dev/urandom Gender: Male On the bleeding edge of cocking things up.  |  |  Re: Sites to Recommand for Nite Visiting? <Reply # 1 on 3/23/2009 8:09 PM >   to be quite honest, i dont recommend going out at night at all -- at least not in full dark. all my most successful explores have been during the day. usually in the afternoon and early evening. from a safety point of view, going out in full day just makes much more sense. weak flooring/structure, holes/pitfalls, ornery fauna, points of entry, local security, etc. are much more difficult to spot at night then they are during the day. granted, you can always pre-scout a place during the day. situations with both law-enforcement/security and civilians are also much more likely to escalate at night the cops are much less likely to give you the benefit of a doubt at night. and the average joe is more likely to call the cops on you. my humble opinion: nights are best left for things like celebrating your successful excursion over beer, or other similar fun activity. as for finding locations to explore, start close to home. chances are there are abandoned houses and businesses in your area, you just need to hunt them down. gallery | deviantart | flickr unlisted  Gender: Male  |  Re: Sites to Recommand for Nite Visiting? <Reply # 2 on 3/23/2009 8:19 PM >   Also, you will want to be very careful in Durham with the lolcopter.. Durham apparently has lots of cash to burn and they are up almost every night... And with a low incident rate they just fly around looking for anything out of the ordinary.. Like persons around abandoned places.. Both York and Durham region has their own helicopters.. and are up almost every night. Go for a walk or bike ride during the day, it'll be allot more rewarding if you find something. (plus flashlights at night beaming out a shut down building are a great way for the average "Joe" to do their "civic duty"- and call the police.
