| | West Coast Sea Launch Platform. < on 3/22/2009 8:57 PM >
| | | This thing is huge, it seems they tow this out to sea and launch satelites into orbit with this baby. I wish my photos were better, but I was riding a motorcycle with helmet and gloves, taking photos in a place I'm sure they would rather I not take photos. The launch platform is big, and so is it's support or launch command ship that is sitting right along side it. Both of these must need a tremendous amount of global communications, look at al the domes and antenna arrays on these two. I ripped in here on my bike, snapped some shots, and within minutes two white trucks were racing my direction. I really didn't think I was doing anything illegal. But I thought I should probably get moving as it is posted as a no stopping zone. My bike does 0 to 60 in about 1.7 seconds. speed limit is 50 at this location. So I held at 60MPH thinking I didn't want to give anymore reason to pull me over. It's about a two mile stretch of road along here that feels like ten, and these fuckers are closing fast!!! They got about 15 feet from my rear fender, I almost over cooked the last corner cause I was so intent on seeing what they were gonna do. I was waiting for red or blue or both lights to flash from the grill or rear view mirror. Nothing!! They both peeled of as I made a left. SWEET. Sitting right next to the launch platform there are two U.S. NAVY Rapid Response Ships, I guess this is so we can wage war at the drop of a hat. These sit 24-7 with the back ramp open so the Marines can just drive right in and go. Obligitory pretty crane shots, for the craniums.

| | | For all I know they were in a hurry to go have pizza, The trucks were unmarked plain white, But they were sure in a big hurry to get someplace. I could try for better shots, it would be better in a car, stable and no helmet would be a big plus. I'd love to get on board but I'll leave that to some of our younger lions.

| | | Thanks for that Hatsumi, I hope they update that soon, it seems to be missing the launch platform.
