i cancelled out because i was going on a pleasant afternoon date with a woman i am pursuing romantically. which is more important than spending time talking about abandoned buildings with a bunch of guys (no offence~).
then she cancelled the date at the last minute, and it was too late to go to the urbex meeting. so instead i stayed home and played video games, which i did poorly at.
sad true story.
haha, but for real: since i was the only one who rsvp'd that i would be coming (and then didn't), i doubt that anyone showed up.

I was fooling about with Google Maps, and have some thoughts on this:
The NS Forts website describes Sandy Point Battery as being "near" to Sandy Point Lighthouse, which is here http://maps.google...,0.006743&t=h&z=18. 'near' is a very subjective term, but i would suggest it's within ~.5km in either direction.
just down the street about 4km is Tea Chest Road, and Tea Chest Island, as shown here http://maps.google...2293,0.026972&z=16
Is it possible that the battery is on the island? Otherwise, I would think the Battery would be at the end of the road...
As for the Obs Post, I'm thinking that if I was designing defences for Shelburne, I would put it at either end of Round Bay where there are outcrops of land. Preahaps right at this link, where there appears to be some sort of structure at the end of Black Point Road (though it may just be a big tree).

I was speaking with Bridge Patrol a few weeks ago, and they told me that since I didn't get the shots I wanted of the wooden boatwreck from Juan when I was there last, that I just need to call PR and let them know I'm coming. I was with someone else at the time, so I'm sure as long as I have a number of who's all coming, they should be fine with it.
