|  | | | My friend and I are starting up a UE themed comic book.
We're doing it totally role play style, he's going to be following me and tracking me as I explore, I'm leaving him clues as to who I am along the way to develop the story with it.
Of course hobos will turn into feral vampires and steering clear of them will be combating them. A two story climb will turn into a ten story climb, everything I do as a regular every day explorer is going to be blown up fantastically. Raccoons will turn into a scavenger species that feeds on the remains of our civilization and those are just some examples of blowing up the story. Of course the town is under a futuristic police state where the cops are a special force hunting the same things I'm after but I'm always a step ahead.
Anyone locally who wants to write themselves into the story is always welcomed. The man I've commissioned to write the part of the journalist is actually a very curious young man who reads comics to stay alive, this is his passion and his life so theres no cash changing hands until we sort it out at the time we publish.
So lets get this thing going, anyone have any ideas about this guy who's been seen on the rooftops of the city late at night who seems to take care of the underlife before the cops can get there?

Every story has similarities.
The great thing about my book is that I have full dnd style role play charts that grade characters skill levels and proficiencies too. Just for fun, it's a totally enveloping world that you can get right into while exploring.
Batman had money- My hero does not.
Spiderman has a radioactive spider bite- My guy has his gloves.
And I do plan on sticking with this. Anyone who wants to give their ideas will get credit.

Sounds realistic. Within the next 5 years they'll finish the composite I've seen them working on - making a kevlar/cotton/spandex blend that's about as expensive and comfortable as underarmor, except with comparable abrasion resistance (but no padding) to motorcycle gear. It won't be bulletproof, and knives won't bend in half when you're stabbed...but it'll help against falling on sharp rocks and brushing against metal edges. And, I guess it'd be a little help against vampire claws and stuff.
I'll show you some sketches and plans I was making for a medium-length story a while back, if I dig them out and put them online. Talk to DroolDog for what happens when a normal person goes through a bag of gear, though - lockpicks, lights, respirators and all.

if your going to have dnd style role play and character skill sets i refer you to Dsankts recent guide to explorer grading system which i think will work well with your game.
aside from your villian you will need a geeky gadget guy to help in those tricky situations like pirs' and such / any takers ?
your character should have some ultra speed processor with 85mp for his camera that can make 3d render images through walls to preview the internal layout of buildings.
and butzex, if you can weave that into the story would be awesome.

I like the idea of that suit. And the camera. I'm keeping it very steam punk. All the gadgets will be more van hellsing style but we will work on something cool!
