| | | Every place I have been exploring has its own unique problems to be overcome. Here it was not so much guards or wire fences. The barricades where more organic in nature. There was nothing huge to look at here but, just like everywhere else there are abandonments if you take the time to look for them. 1. These cactus fences are everywhere. They are a lot like dealing with razor wire.
2. In all the abandoned areas large thorn bushes are common. Check out the length of these thorns they are unforgiving.
The biggest abandonments where related to large church complexes with unused areas. 3.

These places had been cleaned out long ago 6.

9. A long closed supermarket in the former slave town of Rincon.

A 1700’s era lighthouse on the desolate north shore of the island. 12.
This used to be a goat farm and castor oil bean processing plantation. Like the church it was cleared out long ago. 13.

| | | Nice stuff, when we went exploring in the Dominican Republic it was a similar type of cactus fence, the big problem with it was if you got pricked by the needles the wound would never heal! (can't remember what the name of the cactus was though)
I want to die while asleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car. |
