|  | | | There i was browsing google maps because im a huge loser when i come across a section of the map that has a giant triangular pond just near north of cambridge. well being curious i zoom in and in again and then one more time so i can see what it is, to my astonishment its an abandon quarry!
Im down so i jump in my car and bounce to the spot, Im greeted with an abandoned house with two smaller shacks, all abandoned as well. i enter the quarry and spot some machinery sticking out of the water (read: Ice) as i move along the quarry i spot in the distance ea giant barn but me being a lazy smoker didn't feel like walking to it. Therefore it is a triple hitter minus one.
Please pay no attention to the house beside the barn, Its being held up with 2 by 4's. The only inhabitants could be small rodents and hobos.
Its on highway 24, If you miss this house you must be blind.
p.s Its a quarry and its really deep so please don't try to walk out to the conveyor belt. It wont end well.

| | | | I checked it out, but it was sealed up pretty tight and the neigbours were being nosy. I might head out there again soon though.

| | | | Yup, I don't know the history (which is sad because I've lived here all my life) But im going to assume that they hit a fresh water reservoir while mining and flooded the place leaving all the machinery there. Im told that there is a train car in the water somewhere too. but looks like I've got to wait till the ice melts which will also give way to the security guards that patrol the place in the summer. FUN TIMES IN CAMBRIDGE

I do that, too. Unfortunately the coverage up here isn't great, but I spend too much time doing it anyway.

| | | | There is another quarry with good swimming. It is on the road behind Toyota. I think it's private property, since I've been there they put up No trespassing signs. If you see these signs, it was behind them through the trees. It's been fifteen years since I've been there though.
