Very nice, I enjoyed seeing your pics of your adventures. So what they are not artsy or whatever people think they should be.

What I liked even more is the fact you did not ask the normal questions anyone can find answers to around here like what should I wear. You probably read them but did what most of us do when we get the bug. Screw it! just do what I can with what I have. If that does not work, try something else and hit it again.

Well thanks! Even though I did sorta ask in the thread these were cross posted from (the links in the OP) but it was more of a thread about adding onto what I have already. And yes, I read GOBS of threads on here before venturing out. I'm glad you like my photos even though they werent artsy.

Very nice pics! I very much enjoy well documented trips over just artsey shots. Now, lets go add some more to your portfolio mmkay? ;p

Today I went and revisited the first drain that I ever explored and took an actual camera down this time instead of my cameraphone, as well as a drain board to get through all the back-breakers. I'll post my original pics along with the retakes, and new pics. You'll be able to tell which are which lol

This is the outfall (From my cameraphone)

Walking in:

This drain is nice because it's almost tall enough to stand in.

Welcome to the first chamber:

Continuing on through the main trunk, and it's getting a little smaller now, but still a good 5' tall.

This is the second chamber, it's got an interesting rust formation coming in from the manhole.

There's an interesting little channel in the floor of this room:

Thar be gold in these here drains!! Actually it's just the aggregate in the concrete, but it's really shiny!

This is my favourite room in the whole line:

This is my profile picture:

And my retake:

The reason this is the best room in the drain is because, not only is the floor kinda interesting, and the chamber well lit, but it also has a built in chair!

Hopped up in this sideline seen above (the raised one) and broke out my board and started rollin on down. This is where the spiders I was complaining about in a different thread live. This line was just normal RCP for a while then it changed sizes and turns into a wood-plank moulded RCP and gets kinda squished. Where it changed from one type of RCP to the other there were bricks poking in from the wall.

In the part that was made with a wooden mould there were chunks of concrete that looked like they fell off the ceiling and dried there.

At the end of this side line was a small chamber about 4' tall and it lead out to several small infalls. There were also spiders EVERYWHERE... I've found the source!

This little side line lead out to what looked like bricks and there was sunlight comming in... Skateboard for size reference:

So, naturally, I decided to check it out!

Sure enough it was a brick catch basin:

So after checking all this out I rolled back to the room with the 'chair' and went down the large tunnel that was the main trunk. Once down there I came across another chamber, which had a large infall sideline, a manhole, more main trunk, and some raccoon scat! Oompaa! There were also these two small, weird plastic pipes comming out of the floor.

Infall left, main line right:

Scat:

Headed to the infall:

It gets taller and turns into a walking height square chamber as it goes under the highway

Infall from the outside:

Back through the main trunk, it's all backbreakers from here on out, so I hopped on my board and rolled the rest of the way, I rolled through several other chambers and a drain box until I came to the end: an odd junction room where one RCP pokes into the other and the pipe deadends into a 1' RCP and the big RCP goes to an infall:

I know I said it a couple of times while in that drain, but its worth saying again:

Fuck spiders. Fuck them in their little spider fuckholes. >.<

Seriously though, nice pics! That little pipe I couldn't go down after falling looks really neat. The catch basin is really awesome!

Get ahold of some foam padding and stick it on top of your board, take the edge off those bumps. I use part of a destroyed camping mattress I got for free; 1/2" stiff blue foam. Duct tape will do wonders to hold it on, but if it gets wet it'll try to stay wet...which can smell powerfully.
