| | | Is this urban exploring? Its a museum. I don't mean to be too critical but we could all post pictures of places we've paid to enter while on vacation. I'm a member of this site, so I can see pictures and share stories of places where the average person doesn't or can't go.

Or if he signed a fake name like "Mike Ock" in the guestbook.

I do a lot of contract work in various Churches around my city, and they all have the same kind of guest book, with the fields: Name: Address Email: Other church affiliation:
I usually sign my real name, "World explorer" under address, my actual email address, and "jedi" under religious affiliation. IMO, the world needs more religions that allow you to wear robes as daily vestments.

| | | although I am not condoning going to a tourist location... the OP did stumble on something... of a memory in my jaded cranium. I believe the third image was of a grate... over a hole. That grate is along the walkway that is above and away from the caves that people (silly silly people) pay to gain entrance into. The grate, however, is a vent- a natural vent that leads down to an incredible amazing underground cavern. How do I know this? I have been on the other side of that grate. Urban exploration... if you can call Banff Urban... then yes. I think of it more like... well, a great night out;) The nifty thing about this vent is that it's not all that long- maybe 8 or 10' long, sloping downwards and... if you are the first person down (and didn't have the foresight to drop a flashlight beforehand) the last few feet are... slightly unnerving as you have to "let go" and drop to the ground. Once down there, the hot spring water (natural) is collected into a pool. Not too deep but it's pretty big. And, if memory serves, there's a waterfall as well. This was known, by the locals (of which I was one at one point in time), as Middle Springs or The Middle Spring. Then there was the real cave... the other cave... which is still visitable but is a protected environment now. I'll leave that for another day. BTW... I probably know a few people that have been into the other cave that was pictured on the side of the mountain. It's been years since I have been back to Banff but it always feels like home. **apologies for the lack of photos... back in the day (circa 1990 ~ 1995) I was opposed to cameras. So, neither did I own one or allow to be captured by one. [last edit 3/28/2009 1:04 AM by altphotoart - edited 1 times]
