Wow you guys!
| | | Old Brick Manufacturing Plant, Raleigh-Durham, NC < on 2/2/2009 10:05 PM >
| | | My kid brother actually gets the credit for finding this one during a hike down some nearby railroad tracks. He called me up and we went over for the afternoon. It's only a medium-sized location, but the 30+ ft. high metal catwalks were quite memorable. According to the website of the brick company that ran the place, it was built in the 70's, and only shut down in the last year or two, when the on-ramp of a new freeway interchange sliced off a chunk of the property. I think they are slowly moving the equipment to another site, but for now, it's chock full of neat-o machinery.

I hope you will forgive me, but I couldn't help doing a little photoshopping on number 20... no little brothers were harmed during the filming of this exploration.

| | | Those steps look so sketchy. And you should of tossed your brother into the oven then the mixer.

Thanks! I'll certainly hit you up for some locations one of these days. I go to State, so I'm in Raleigh all the time. This one coming at you via email, or PM or something. And yes, those stairs look REALLY SKETCHY. But they are surprisingly sturdy. Just years of being stomped by big, muddy boots, I guess. [last edit 2/2/2009 11:10 PM by Avius - edited 1 times]

| | | Yeah, they appear to be moving the equipment out slowly. Usually I just see a couple trucks on the property from time-to-time.

I'm too chicken to climb cranes at the moment, basically. To the scared guy, it looks like insanity even when it's not. [last edit 2/3/2009 1:18 AM by AnAppleSnail - edited 1 times]

No, really, I'm gonna go ahead and insist that climbing cranes is pretty crazy. Props, though. Nothing wrong with crazy.

lmao! Yes, climbing cranes is crazy. And terrifying. I would never do it on a regular basis or without an experienced crazymotherfucker like uLiveYouBurn! I'm in Raleigh quite often too, btw, Avius. Are you on Facebook? http://www.faceboo....php?id=1503210050

I'm working on getting a site hosted so I can put up better quality pics, but I'm having trouble with the server. I'll post a link once I get it working!
