| | Any idea where this is or at least what it is? < on 2/2/2009 2:15 AM >
| | | I know it's in the Hampton Roads, VA to North Eastern, NC area. But I can't for the life of me figure out what it was. I'm leaning more towards NC at this point because I know most of the spots around the Hampton Roads area and haven't seen anything like it. It's tall, it looks like it used to be connected, and there are doors in the base of it. It's also in a big field of some kind and the space around it is paved. Just wondering what its purpose was.
And there are piles of gravel (?) that may or may not be related to the orginial purpose of the site.

| | | Since you don't know where this place was I'm assuming you were not the one to take them. If you weren't, try asking who-ever's web page you found them on.

Gave it a go but not really holding my breath because it the site hadn't been updated in 3+ years

| | | I fist thought it looked like supports for an overpass, but those typically don't have doors. It does remind my of the shipbuilding cranes in the NN shipyard, but those are steel and move. Either way, it looks like it held up a lot of weight.

| | | Remnants of a blimp hangar in NE NC. Saw it a while ago browsing this site about abandoned airfields. http://www.airfiel...irfields_NC_NE.htm
