I like them all but that second to last one with the ice flows is amazing.

You seem to be using natural light in the majority of these, so my following comment may not work. I'm a fan of really long drain shot exposures where the flow almost appears to be solid.

E.g. I'm guessing the exposures on these was about 1/15s or quicker. I would love to see something more along the lines of 3 seconds or longer. But as I said, that might be trickier to accomplish without overexposure due to the light coming in from above.

I demand exposures long enough to make the ice look fluid

In one line you said what I was trying to do in two paragraphs worth of gibberish...

Except, yours was sensible - you asked for the water to look fluid, I asked for the ice

If we continue this fluidity of ice discussion does that then fully qualify as a thread-jack?

In other news they have the internet on computers now.

Trent--I've been using my flash as a main light source instead of my torch (which broke when I watched it bob downstream in a fast flowing pipe after dropping it).
The second and third shot are lit entirely by the flash so there's only a split second of light to fill the frame. I'm not sure if I'm following you--are you more drawn to water that seems more 'frozen' in action, or softened out from a long exposure?

I like how these turned out. Nice that you had the natural light to work with from the shaft. It works well in the conjunction with the flash. How are you lighting the foregrounds of the second and third ones though?

Oh yeah, and I like the last one the best, though I kind of wish the snow on the churn blocks stood out a bit more.

Thanks, the second was lit from two blasts of light from my flash, which was enough to reflect light into the foreground. The third was a 15 second exposure where I flashed the ceiling just out of the frame and then ran over inside the frame and lit up again from there.

I like the last one quite a bit, with the poles centered in the cylindrical hole of the tunnel, very cool and very brave. I will not do tunnels too claustrophobic for me. When I look at that last one I feel like I want to run to the opening! lol
Very cool!
