So I was told about a train station near Manteo Mental Hospital. They said that it was just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away. They even gave me a few pictures of it.
Here they are:
I have a photoshoot with a girl there next Friday, but the problem is that I don't even know how to get there?! The guy is MIA and I can't get ahold of him for directions.
ANYONE KNOW WHERE THIS IS?! I am coming from Crown Point, IN. ANY help would be amazing.

| | | | I don't see a train station, I see an old car. The topo maps for the area don't indicate any depot in the area, but you might want to try checking the high-res satellite images along the train tracks.

| | | | There's an old sewage-treatment plant out past the old laundry building. There's also a pretty big smoke stack/kiln/crematorium that you can crawl up into as well. I haven't been out there in a while, but it's in the woods out by the softball diamond.
There's a few old structures out there as well. Worth a look, seeing as how they knocked almost everything else down.

Nah, I haven't been out there since summer. I doubt I'll ever go back anyway, it's sad seeing what it is today compared with what it used to be.

| | | | Security at Manteno? VA cops or the crazy guy in the black dually from Cousins Builders? I haven't been there since October (stopped in since I was driving through) and didn't notice any. There used to be a pile of miscellaneous medical equipment around the old sewage plant, probably gone now.

| | | | when i was at manteno, the police were on to us after about 30 minutes. and it was night time. there's a veteran's home or hospital on half the property. that was in 2005. from what i've read security's still tight. if you do find this train though that'd be amazing. come back here and report
