Graffitotag

This is just a collection of shots along a stream leading to a rather large drain, that feeds a rather large waterfall in the upper east end.
First attempt I took at getting there I made the mistake of forgetting my rubber boots, so I was only able to get so far along the way.

Second attempt, and by the time I reached the first underpass I was met with a snowstorm, but not enough to detur me from my goal! I pressed on, without an idea how long this walk would really be. Luckily there was some good scenery...

All along the way, there was a rather large family of ducks in the stream. They would always see or hear me before I noticed they were there, then fly further up the stream, just for me to run into them again a few minutes later. I also came upon an adventure bridge, and three very large birds that I had no idea what they were. My picture of one in the tree didn't end up well, but they were larger than turkeys, and looked really haggard...

Finally, I ended up at the drain, only to find that it was locked, covered in metal grating. I had nothing to remove the lock at the time, so I resigned myself for looking into another location.

After bypassing a fence I made it onto a property where the city of Hamilton keeps all of it's road salt. As the snow storm progressed, more and more plows were on the streets spreading the salt, and after watching a few go by, I thought I was relatively safe to go and get a closer look.
Unfortunately, as I was in the middle of a large open lot between giant snow banks and the actual building, a snow plow comes speeding into the property. There was no doubt that they saw me, thanks to a grey coat against a white snow background, and after a mad dash and jump over a snow bank I chanced a look back at those who would ruin my fun.

As it was beginning to get dark at that time, I decided to call the day quits, and take a more conventional rout back to home, over a fence. Provided the weather is well, I will be returning to the drain soon to try and see if I can get inside.

p.s. I am new to this; sorry if the photos are not the best quality; sorry if the story is not the best quality. XD

That's definitely the Mountain Juggernaut outfall. I've yet to get there but from what I've read, even if you do enter through the outfall grate, you'll encounter a deep pool (GPT) before you get to the delicious loaf-shaped pipe.

Most of that graf is pretty wack.

Mullet Creek's Channelization has lots of semi decent stuff, mostly because Toronto always had a good graff scene. Hamilton for some reason had lots of wack graf. Even the good stuff painted on Dr.Disk was out of towners.

Ah, yeah. It's amazing how great the graffiti is in some Ontario cities (Toronto, London) and how bad it is in others (Hamilton, Windsor)...

Yah, most of the "graf" in Hamilton is just punk tagging. Any of the good stuff is done by people out of town, or who have since moved on.

Yeah Zion who was one of the good artists actually moved here and opened a shop called "bombshelter". Although Hamilton used to have a great graf show on the roof of Jackson mall...

Thanks for sharing, I didn't know that space above Jackson was ever used for anything other than people to smoke on.

I believe that 1997 show was the same weekend as that big plastimet fire. Something smelled VERY nasty.

*another useless factoid. I wish I did lister back then. I bet it had it real crack heads squatting there then.
