| | | Ollies has p100 respirators for $17.99 US. If I'm not mistaken, these are rated for asbestos protection right? I looked at the package but didnt have time to read it all. And if so, is this a good deal?

| | | I dunno much about this Ollie character...but I checked out his flyer, and he looks like a fuckin creep! I'd keep your $17.99 and just buy something like this: http://cgi.ebay.ca...|39%3A1|240%3A1318 The 3M masks are, in my opinion anyways, far and away the best half masks out there, and the replacement filters aren't too pricey either. That auction comes with a 2091 P100 filter cartridge, which is good for asbestos and can be used safely until the pink filter gets dirty or becomes slightly more difficult to breath through. Personally, I'd pay the extra dollar or two and get the 2097 replacement filter which comes with nuisance level organic vapor protection, which helps filter out the actual smell of stinky basements and moldy offices, as well as welding fumes, laser plumes, hobo poo and pigeon shit. hope this helps.

lmao.. Youre right, he does...thankfully he doesnt actually run the place.. They have some pretty awesome discount shit though. I just bought a 10x12 tarp there for $4 the other day and saw that mask. I think they had two or three left. The also have 50 ft lengths of nice quality rope for like $7. You know, the stuff that looks like climbing rope. I was thinking about picking some of that up too. Thanks for all your help.

From personal experience, VOC filters only filter out extremely heavily used hobo bathroom smell for about 55 seconds, after which the smell permeates the mask and you wonder, why am I in here, just because I have a mask on? I'm an idiot!!! Really, go for the VOC's but don't think you're Superman or anything. They can be had at Home Depot for around $15 to $20 depending on what mask you have (the canisters, that is).
