| | | York Steam Tunnels < on 1/26/2009 6:22 PM >
| | | So... last night, or early this morning to be exact I hooked up with Mino and Rebecca to check out the steam tunnels at York. We took the blueberry entrance and made our way left on towards the southern section of the vast maze of tunnels. I made the stupid mistake of bringing a thick hoodie and scarf thingy to cover my face from any suspecting cameras, and I ended up sweating like a mad man. I wasn't too sure where we were going but we continued on with the aid of the pretty accurate directions written all over the walls. We continued on past many mechanical rooms and doors, several keen explorers had left behind door stops to prevent them from locking. We continued on for what seemed like an eternity until we came to a dead end with some sort of locked cage blocking the path. On the way back Mino accidently opened a door with a sign that depicted that the room was under closed circuit surveillance and we decided that it was time to leave, not knowing any safe exits besides the one we came in from, we basically picked a random door which ended up leading to the basement of Atkinson College and we easily made our way back outside. Anyone know about the pedestrian tunnels? help would be much appreciated! pm me [last edit 1/26/2009 8:21 PM by hilite - edited 5 times]

| | | I love steam tunnels, they are best in winter, not so fun in summer, thanks for the cool shots.

I'm there all the time on school days but I still haven't got a chance to visit the tunnels yet.

| | | Blueberry entrance?! The nearest entrance to Blueberry Hill I remember is in Stedman Lecture Halls. I see that the first picture you have is of the skull which is (if I'm not mistaken) in the tunnel connecting Curtis Lecture Halls to SLH. Or do you mean by Blueberry something else?

| | | Awesome photos! You should be careful about posting pictures with your face, though. You can still be persecuted for trespassing even if you are off their property. See: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=66590 Edit: Haha I just looked at the date this thread was created. It looks like you are safe now, but you should still keep this in mind.
