overgrown yard, check
rotting hay, check
vehicles in back yard, check (there was actually 4)
tons of junk in the mudroom, check
So of course, it was occupied. Blind old man living in the basement. Talked for about 10 minutes then slinked out of there. Has this happened to anyone else?

| | | | oto and I checked out this place near Peterborough that looked as though a big chunk of the roof was missing, in a weird looking damage that suggested a meteor crashed through it (that's how it looked!). Of course, it was active and the owners were pissed we were showing interest.
IanK and I visited this run down P.O.S. house in York Region that was truly falling apart and looked... scummy. We went to investigate. Bang, the big, fierce dog comes running out at us.
One place near where I live was similar. Very run down and hygienically unclean looking. I wandered inside to hear voices coming from a bedroom, so I slinked outta there.
Definitely no "pride of ownership" in the above cases, LOL...
