Freshly abandoned house North Of Toronto

I see this house just sitting there.

I notice that the yard has not been mowed and the people no longer inhabit it.

I talked to a person that Lived there a few times as he walked his Lassie looking dog. Now I guess he's never coming back.

That was a few months ago. I waited to make sure he wasn't on vacation. The Doors were Locked and I didn't try to hard to get in. One person open the doors and had a look around leaving the front door wide open. I took this an invitation.

So I don't whats gonna happen with the house. Maybe its done for. Maybe its in a transition. Maybe He'll come back in summer and wonder why some crazy kids keep stopping by to take pics.. dunno.

There are tons of houses that are abandoned in North York. I work somewhat close to there but I do drive through everyday and right along Finch near Yonge st there is a row of houses set for demo to build townhouses. Quite a few of them are there so maybe if you live close by, check it out.

I think I even looked at this house today wondering it it was abandoned as the driveway was not plowed at all!

Well its a bit more northern then North York.. Its actually even northier than Thornhill

As for why he left it.. the house is kinda small.

From the outside the house looks bigger but the bedrooms are in the basement and the living room is the biggest room. As a house to own its great.

Actually there was a gorgeous Willow out from of the house that was perfectly fine and really Old. Probably older than the house, but about a month and a half ago they just cut it down. One day there, the next, NO TREE. I really want to complain about it being really pissed. They even damaged the house when it came down. If I find a pic of it I'll post it.

Such a cool find...all freshly abandoned and full of stuff. You should visit regularly and document the decline as it happens. The pics were teasingly small.

Mmm... Fresh meat. I really wonder what is going to happen with this house though, it seems to still be rather filled with stuff, and not the normal stuff people just leave layin' around. It would be fun to see what happens in the next few months I guess.

I was just thinking that exact same thing

when you are here, you wish you were there. but once you're there, it soon becomes a here, and you again wish to be there instead of here...

we will never be completely satisfied.

living in that area for several years, i think this happens quite a bit now. mainly due to development. there are Smart! Centres(TM), strip malls and poorly built housing hives popping up in the aurora/oaks/rh area like crazy. the developers just pay the residents out, often for the large tracts of farmland.

WTF?!?!

I was going home last night and I thought I'd detour a touch and check out the house..

wow.. 2 days of not seeing it and BAM! this is what happens

How would I go about finding out what construction company did this?

First they cut down a Huge old tree.. then the house itself.

Glad I went into it when I did.. too bad its now gone forever!

oh durr.. I thought that was where they rented it from.

That's what happens when the neighbourhood complains about a house being an eye-sore. They do a poll, send it to the Mayor or M.P.P. and demand them to demolish it.

Not only that, many people these days don't appreciate houses that have a natural and earthly different look. People who wish to buy their new homes that look like an arrogant and monotonous house that's attached to the other house to show "unity" with the neighbour.

I might be shunned for using my hands to make unnoticeable entrances in a boarded house, but the truth is, that house in a matter of time will be gone. You may as well have a look. I mean; if people are already in the motion of letting a place rot, they've already put up the first action toward demolishing the place.

Wow. Weird. Folks packed up their bed and left everything else it looks like. They must have been wide-shouldered for some of those doorways. How strange that they demo'd it so quickly!
