|  | | | Well first of all hi, as you can see I have been here for awhile but haven't really posted anything. Well I am proud to present my first published UE pictures.
Locustwood Nursing home:
Rockford IL.
I had know that this place was abandoned for quite a long time.
So I planned on making this my first documented location.
Me and a friend parked my GF's car about 2 blocks away and huffed it to the location.
There is a cornfield to the right of it so we cut thru it.
As we exited the grounds I noticed that the grounds were mowed, and the two abandoned school buses were gone  .
At first I thought the place was locked down tight, after a thorough search I came to a open fire door.
So me and the buddy walk in. Unfortunately the place is under renovation, so there were no artifacts to document.
As we got a little ways into my buddy asks me to be quite, then I hear it... BEEP BEEP BEEP.
Now my buddy panics and so do I.
We both run out of there and back to the car.
It was no burglar alarm I had ever heard, but I still broke out.
Might of been a dying fire alarm for all I know, but better safe then sorry.

| | | | cool stuff, and agreed, better safe then sorry. for all you know it could have been a smoke alarm with a dying battery, but you never really know, nor is it wise to stick around to find out. would appreciate bigger pictures however. thanks for posting.

| | | | I will work on the size to quality ratio and see if I can have some better results. Since Rockford has alot of abandonment I should be coming up with some more locations soon. Thanks for the kind words

@ wiccan Thats what I thought to, but they were partially stripped doors, I guess they were repainted alot.
Im kinda mad at myself for not getting there sooner, there was a couple of abandoned school buses I would of loved to photograph. As you can see in a couple of pictures the eves were all taken down by scrappers. There is actually another nursing home that got closed down more recently, I am going to check it out.

| | | | Well no shit, i'm from south beloit! i know a few locations around the rockford area, most prominently the old barber colman complex (which i am staying out of right now because of the asbestos cleanup) and a few abandoned houses in the country side
