I am new to this Board and I was just wondering if anyones ever been to or inside the old Kmart in Appleton? It may be demolished soon. Asbestos removal has begun. Please post pix or tell about the experience if you know anything

I have never been inside the building, and from what I understand the police patrol the area quite regularly due to past break-ins/vandalism.
It would be nice to get in there before it comes down. I still remember shopping there in my younger years.
As a side note, Appleton PD issued the largest ticket it has ever issued to the property owners of the old Kmart. The developer kept stringing the City on about redevelopment. finally the City said enough and counted every day since the Raze or Repair order as a separate violation and hit them for, I heard, over $300,000. That was half the cost of the asbestos removal price tag.

On the Kmart note, I also heard that it was patrolled regularly and "virtually inaccessible." Then, again, that hardly ever means anything to urban explorers...
