I found this place accidentally while riding the train a while back, and just got around to visiting it this weekend. It's an old Metal Finishing factory that began operations in 1936 and ceased on May of 1995.

I like the shots! Very cool indeed. 6 makes me feel as if there should be a UE national anthem of sorts that would play with that picture in the background haha.

Several of these speak volumes. I like the slinky, which has stopped, and the American flag, which has been tainted.

Wow, these are some really awesome pics. I really like the one with the light bulbs. I've never seen so many different colors of just everyday looking bulbs. That's pretty sweet.

I also really like the mug. The dirt on it looks sweet.

Hey thanks everybody! Those bulbs made me really happy to find. I took about 50 pictures of those things alone. I've never seen in person so many different light bulbs. Another explorer on this site has a similar picture of, what I assume is, those exact bulbs and it's one of my favorite pictures of theirs. I thought about taking the color out of the American flag picture, but once I had I decided it looked better in color.

At first, I thought those lightbulbs were plastic Easter Eggs.

Always wondered why people leave what I (personally) think are necessities behind...Shoes, glasses.

"This place closed down, I no longer have a job...Fuck it, I'll leave my glasses here".

Anyways, sweet photos.

Scene kids need to get AIDS. LOTS of it.

There were lots of boots in this buildings. I can only assume that the company gave them away for safety reasons and/or no one wanted them when the operation shut down due to the chemicals they were dealing with every day.

Speaking of WEBE, I can occasionally pull them in here on the island when I'm DX'ing.

Sweet pics!

I love the Slinky!

The place ceased operations in May of 1995 so they're at least 13 years old. I thought about bringing one home to plug in to see if they were still good, but decided I'd better not.

I would have...those bulbs are awesome

Everyday we pass beauty by as we rush through our hurried lives. The world looks different if you take the time and walk slowly.
