| | Two of my Locations in the Tri city areas of S-ont. < on 10/31/2008 7:25 PM >
| | | well I decided to visit two new spots today all out in the "Country" Between Cambridge and Guelph. One spot is an old barn which im sure thousands of people have been into and the other is a little stone house tucked away behind some trees. im still fairly new to this whole ordeal but im going to give it a shot. The barn was ehh. pretty generic stuff
i would have added comments on each photo but i kind of forgot which one was which.

Im under the impression that pics if the toilette is a pastime around here. I wore a respirator because i noticed thousands of flies and lots of mouse/rat crap mostly upstairs.

| | | Welcome, and good start. A few hopefully helpful comments... 1) You should try to keep an eye on debris getting on your lens. It takes away from the picture. 2) When there are horizontal lines in your picture, or vertical for that matter, that are meant to be straight, make sure they are. I'm bad for this one myself, but it does take away from the picture also. 3) You're right, crappers and lonely chairs are almost mandatory pictures from any abandonment. I'm not sure how recent or fresh the contents need to be, I don't think there's been any consensus on that yet, but keep them in there. 4) Finally, careful with the flash. Bring a tripod, and use ambient light as much as possible. Sometimes that can be a pain in the ass, I know, but it really will pay off in the long run. All that aside, keep taking pics, keep posting, but most importantly, keep exploring.

| | | I'm glad to see there's another explorer in this area. I am familiar with both of those places. That stone house is nice. It's too bad that they had to board it up, but at least it's still accessible. Here's a gallery from the first time I went: http://picasaweb.g...neHouseNearGuelph#

| | | I like the stone house. I wish there was more abandoned stuff like that in my area...everything that I get around to here is too newly abandoned for me. I like when a place has been desolate and becoming more and more decrepit for at least a decade.
Urban exploring since getting chased out of an abandoned barn with my mother at the age of four by an angry farmer with a pitchfork. |

I wonder if the rat was someone's pet that was left behind. If so, that's kind of sad. Nonetheless, it would still be an unnerving thing to see when exploring.
