| | Intriguing find in San Antonio < on 10/28/2008 11:09 PM >
| | | I was looking for the ruins of Sloan Yard when I stumbled across this intriguing place:
Does anybody know the history of it? I think it can only be accessed by Probandt street via the gritty, possibly abandoned silos and active train tracks. Thanks!

| | | Man, I don't even have to look at the map, I know that aerial photo from anywhere... That is part of the Lone Star Brewery. The pond you have pictured there had a fountain in the center and is near the Olympic sized swimming pool (the white oval connected to the pond), beer garten, Buckhorn Saloon, and museum that people were once able to enjoy back when it was open. The best part of that abandonment is actually to the North West of the view that you are looking at there and includes the huge abandoned brewery... So, it's a great find indeed. One of the places that has been on my top 5 list for a few years now. Just need the time.

| | | Dude... just let me know. In fact, soon - I just read that they are going to turn it into a mixed use development! [last edit 10/29/2008 4:05 AM by RevSM - edited 1 times]

I don't know when I can work it out to get down there. Maybe spring break? I've been wanting to meet you since I first got into this hobby. Yours and Noah Vale's websites were the first two that I started looking at.
