Two finds in Shreveport, LA-Rare bridge and possible houseboat wreck on Cross Bayou

The bridge is a Waddel A-truss bridge and one of the two remaining Waddel trusses in North America. I'd recommend seeing it now, it seems to be falling apart as I speak. It's between the Spring St. bridge and the Clyde E. Fant Memorial Pkwy. bridge. It's accessable via the Caddo St. crossing (watch for active trains) and Cadillac St. (watch for jungle-like overgrowth here). The shipwreck could either be an old houseboat, an old regular boat, or and old trailer. It resides at the northern bank of the bayou and is directly next to and almost visible from the N Market St. bridge. I doubt it still exists because it seemed in even worse condition than the bridge when I saw it.

Here it is on GE. It says in the bottom corner March 2002 which is not recent, so you're probably right about the boat being gone. But the rail-bridge is definitely still there, good luck exploring it before it starts to deteriorate

That's not the boat I was talking about. If you go to MSN Live Search Maps and select Bird's Eye View, you can see something beached on the shore. I don't know what that thing is you pointed out. I guess it's a working boat. Also, you can see pics of it here: http://www.bridgeh...caddo/cross-bayou/. Also, I've never been to Shreveport and certainly don't live close enough to explore. Also:

That's got to be the best filename ever, on that pic.

Dieu m'a exaucé.
