Here are some teaser pics of a place I scouted out today, there are many more to come I just need to figure out how to get inside. Anyone have any idea what kind of spider that is? I walked right into it's web.

Cool pics, just saw a spider similar to that day. By similar I mean big and spiderish looking. Don't know what it is.

This thing was huge, it's body was probably the size of a silver dollar.

i know where that is... you'd better get inside before they decide to level it. I'm sure there is no rush because the city can't seem to make up its mind what to do with it.

Yeah I have a feeling it's not going anywhere anytime soon. The only problem I have run into so far is trying to get in without the sailors seeing me, and it doesn't help that the Coast Guard is next door. Do you know what is was used for or what might be awaiting me inside?

a local sailing/yachting club used the interior for storage up until a couple of years ago. It was originally a power plant for the city, catering to the industry along the waterfront and Pine Street. It was decommissioned eons ago, however. Everything has been removed from the interior and it's really not THAT interesting, but getting inside is kind of a challenge.

As a tip, the Coasties nearby don't pay any attention to the place.
As another tip, the BPD are right above this place and can be there in a heartbeat!

The building still has their logo on the front and they do keep their boats fenced up right near the entrance.Oh great, BPD! I really am not a big fan of them, they have already written me a bullshit ticket that had no legitimate law that I had broken, the cop made a law that did not even exist up and cited me for it.

So I found out some more info, the City of Burlington and a group of investors are trying to reach an agreement to convert this place into an indoor ice climbing facility and leaving some room for storage. Unfortunately the city and investors can't reach an agreement on funding.

Here's another update; This place is sealed up tighter than we thought. We found one way in and our only problem is it is direct view of at least one, possibly two security cameras. We check and saw that they were in fact pointed directly at the entrance. We spoke with the director of the sailing center that occupies the land around the building and he said that it is incredible inside. Now I feel like I NEED to get in. Any suggestions on what to do about these cameras?

Use two invasion of privacy protection balloons.\

I dunno, I think a judgment call on if you think someone is actively monitoring them or not.

Also, could you block their view and watch the site from a distance waiting to see if anyone shows up. When they do, you know how long it takes them to respond and who responds. Once you know that, try again in a couple weeks. Yah, it's pushing it to the limit, but it all depends on how bad you want to get in.

I think we may try your suggestion and that balloon just might be the way to do it.
Here's what we are working with. (the second camera is inside of the window towards the top left of the glass)
