|  | | | There's a neat little set of 4 buildings, house, barn, garage, and ??? that I pass every day on the way to and from work. It's nestled in the woods in a nice little suburb of Rochester. I finally remembered to bring my camera to work and took some pictures of it on the way home, only to catch a nice Posted and No Trespassing signs in the shots. That can only mean there are nosy neighbors with 911 on speed dial...
Regardless, here are the images.
Bonus! A couple shots (moving in the car, sorry) of another place nearby to the aforementioned house. Right near a train-track and appears to be a semi-abandoned business, but has a large fence with barbed wire and semi-frequent patrols.
At least 2 of 6, most likely 4 of 6, buildings are apparently unused. They appear to be different machining and parts shops.

Haha yeah. Asking permission can create at least two potential issues though. First, if you ask and they say 'no' then you sneak in anyway, they are more offended and prone to calling the cops boasting 'I told that scrapper to stay away!' which is harder to talk your way out of. Second, if they say 'yes' and after you leave metawaffle or someone else burns it down coincidentally, the neighbor will certainly tell the cops 'some scrapper' asked to go in. If it's that hard to get in, it might be worth a try but...
I think your best bet is to take trent's suggestion and go for walkies with your photographic device, sneaking in from the back if possible. At least if you walk around the place even just to scope it out, you'll have a better idea on how to enter without detection. Then as trent would say "Just rock out with the camera and photograph it like you own it."

This site doesn't appear to have had buildings torn down... I see no sign of construction or former demolition or anything... just these 4 buildings.
In the other nearby location, listed second, there are, however, signs of places being torn down.

School is indeed being used. It's a historical society or something to that effect, now. I'll get details on my way home from work.
As for taking a look around here, I'm open to trespassing as long as I've got some good company with me.
