I know, I know, everyone hates a ghost, but I like Ghost Hunters. Steve is sexy and all the talk of Roto Rooter gets me going. Tomorrows show takes place at Buffalo Central Terminal. Scary! Here is there ad, if you are interested. http://video.scifi.com/player/?id=664321

I am hoping to spot Sara in the episode, but I don't know if she will be there.

Cool, that's gonna be a good one! Love that show.

I wonder how much unwanted attention will turn on this location now. Speaking of which, I've wanted to go there for some time...anyone who's been there feel like joining me?

The BCT wants the attention, hence me finding out about this from their mailing list. Also, it is on the front page of their website http://buffalocentralterminal.org/

I thought it was a great episode, don't really care about the ghosts and stuff but I got to see some video of an awesome building.

Yes, they want good attention. They want money for restoration and empathy for their cause. I am sure they don't want taggers, thieves, vandals, hoods, or vagrants tho... catch my point?

[edit: added point]
The whole point of the GH show is to bring attention to locations. Generally, the locations are in need of something: Tourism, donations, visitors, interest, etc. Mostly they are asked to a location to further or dispel a myth (depending on whether the myth is good for business or not) or boost business to a particular location. I'm not saying the TAPs boys and girls aren't out to find ghosts, they probably are, even despite their lack of a real coordinated, scientific investigation based on facts and not stereotypes. That's another topic and I digress.

We post on here all the time about abandonments and vacants and how posters should be wary of giving the real locations of them. Sure, the episode may bring interest from some organization with money, but most likely it will bring higher security, scrappers, taggers, etc. That's my point. [climbing down from soapbox]. The floor is yours...

For what it's worth, since GH does an abysmal job at setting up an episode...we did NOT call them to investigate, they called us because they were in town and someone told them we're haunted...I still don't know why people think that, given that it's a TRAIN STATION and not a psych hospital or something where many people die...but whatever.

We'll take any attention we can get. Proof of that is the fact that we ever did the silly Discovery channel UE show. Is it the right kind of attention, definitely not. I've gotten about 15 emails since last night of groups wanting to investigate ghosts. We won't and can't accommodate over night trips by every Tom Dick and Harry who thinks it's haunted. Can we maybe cash in and run some "ghost tours" ourselves, sure. Is it going to attract a developer and secure our future, probably not. But hey, it didn't cost us anything, free national advertising WOOHOO. I'm not scared of attracting vandals or criminals because of it, though I was for the discovery channel show. And no matter, the building is secure, we're not worried.

I wasn't in the episode because I work nights, and they were onsite from about 9-4am, right when I'm working. Tracy is one of our building committee volunteers and had to be there with them for 4 or 5 nights while filming.

Do I believe their results? Not really...the "go home" could have easily been someone outside. TAPS didn't want us advertising that they would be there, but they're not exactly stealth, leaving their vans parked outside...and the "penguin" waddling down the hallway...looks neat, but so totally could have been a person even if they claim you couldn't see anyone on the other camera.

But I thought the episode was interesting and amusing, and the building looked great. The response has been positive so far, and we're just gonna go with the flow for now.

I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully it will be available for a nice quick download tonight.

4 to 5 nights? I always assumed that they were just at these places for 5-8 hours. Man, I haven't seen very much of the show, but that certainly makes it more lame if what they can come up with, which is typically little to nothing, takes 4 to 5 nights.

I was really hoping to see you in this, Sara. You burst my bubble. Oh well, I will still watch it.

Ha I didn't know you hadn't seen it yet, sorry to disappoint you

Reality shows are not at all reality...I was with the Discovery crew in 04 for their filming...I think they were there 3 days, but they did take after take, and while there was no script it was like
director: ok you say something like, hey Bill where are you? and then bill stick your head out the window and look up and say, i'm right here! ok good now do it again...and again...and again...
I think they rappelled out of the ceiling 4 times, and the 2 segments...the flooded tunnels with Timmy the tool and whats his name who was actually an explorer, and the concourse segments, 2 separate days. So when the 2 tunnel guys met the 2 concourse guys after rappelling (so lame), they had to fake like the tunnel guys were all wet and had just come up from below. It was pretty ridiculous.

The show claims the investigation was one night...it may have been, but i do know they were still there doing SOMETHING for multiple nights. Reshoots, or the scripted scenes, not sure. The intro was definitely done after the fact as they knew nothing about the building before hand, and that whole...we didn't call them, they called us thing

FYI the german voice story, fake. he made it up, told us about it later, jerk haha

Hey Sara, thanks for the info. It's nice hearing from your side of the fence for once regarding TAPS! In my previous post I was generalizing, so I hope I didn't offend.

Ha for once, on uer, I wasn't offended by your comment

You may be right for alot of the sites they have on their show, they may be calling TAPS so they can be on tv and get the attention. But like I said for us, we didn't call them. They pursued us, and it's hard to turn down free national advertising haha. I saw on some other GH boards that people think we got paid, and that we did it for the money, but not so. They cover all their own expenses, but they definitely didn't pay us to be there, or pay the people who were on the show.

Sara, I finally watched it. I am sad you weren't in it. I am even more sad to inform you that I need access again. I am not really into ghosts, in fact I hate them, but I am an avid penguin hunter. So is Nan. I think were are going to have to gather our guns and thermal imagers and pop on by. You should join the hunt. I haven't seen you in so long. Anyhow, be a dear and set that up for me. Thanks, doll.
