| | | Its easy getting in. I've been in twice, once being given a tour. Theres two morgues, one being real and another is a movie set. Floors 2 through 6 are locked but roof access is easy. Basement access is also easy. It is heavily guarded during the day and lightly at night as it is active in filming. You can get in given the proper permits and knowhow like me. Email to find out if you're interested. I've taken another group of UERs in before.

| | | Anyone up for a trip? We may have to make like 2 trips since sometimes, the producers may be using the whole complex during the day. Usually, if they're not using the whole complex, I can get in with a little magic. Anyone down for a nighttime scout? haha see some of my linda vista stuff at flickr.com/wii_vo [last edit 6/20/2009 10:36 PM by roguexantic - edited 1 times]

| | | I'm game early in the week. I would recommend approaching from the rear as the front usually seems to be more guarded.

| | | I infiltrated Linda Vista about a month ago today. I'm planning on having a photo shoot inside very soon. It's not that hard to get in; although the method I used isn't full-proof. I can tell anyone that is thinking of going in however, don't bother trying any of the doors on the ground floor, or on the fire escapes. Once your inside its free sailing. Its dark, its quiet, and camera free. Not to mention the so called security guard sits on his ass all night, and smokes on the porch so don't even worry about him. You'll need a few tools if you plan on accessing the upper floors. All doors are locked from the inside, some by padlock, others have a small metal slide that holds the door shut from the top. If you have a thin object a foot in length you can easily slide the object forward and open the door. I would also advise anyone to bring a breathing mask. Their is a-lot of dust in the air and I'm sure it isn't in your best health to breath in there. Also if you want to get to the very top observation room you may want to think about bringing some basic rope climbing gear. Outside of that I'd be more than happy to give a more detailed plan for entry, and also exiting. P.S Best time to go is between 12:00am and 3:00am.

| | | Rope climbing gear? For WHAT? I went up to the top floor by climbing some stairs.. I didn't need climbing gear at all. O_o

Wear a mole richardson shirt, some wore in shorts, impossibly comfortable shoes, a tool belt with a can of air and some random multitools, a backwards wooden nickel hat, a walky (bonus points if you have a hot brick), and some sort of call sheet. Walk in at 9 am and say you're the day player. Make sure to get something from crafty!

Just blend in with the film people and go when it's a low budget production. Act like a location scout or some kooky director. It might even help to have a personal assistant if you're going for kooky director.

Anytime you have to stop traffic you are required to have uniformed officers do it. That's all it ever is. They don't do private security.

Just walk in smelling like beer and having a bad attitude. Then ask for the grip truck. Bonus points if you bitch about your day rate.

| | | i saw part of the movie "Deadgirl" the other day, and Linda Vista was featured prominently... though the continuity of what is where and how to get from place to place is obviously edited together for the story for example they run away from a ferocious dog by leaving him behind in the incinerator room... only to escape to the incinerator room from a different angle

| | | went by last night, the entry scenario has changed significantly. security is tighter, and 2 security guards were keeping an occasional eye on the perimeter. of the several ways i knew to get in, only one is still viable and has gotten more difficult, physically. all the other ways have been countered with new locks/obstacles/etc. also ran into three ghost hunters trying to get in. out of curiosity, we went and approached a security guard and asked to be let in. he did not speak english, and threatened to call the police. according to shockwave's research, this place is under new management. daytime: probably still easy to get in. the above is relevant to night, after filming has finished.

sorry, should have added more detail for the armchair explorers who don't know anything about the site... or have evolved the ability to walk through walls. i'll try to spell it out a bit clearer.... maybe add an MS-Paint drawing too. every door, double-locked with padlocks from the inside. every window, barred over or boarded over w/ 2 inch screws into the frame, again from the inside. on the west and east sides of the hospital, well-lit streets with frequent police patrols. 3 blocks away, a police station. on every side, nervous east angelinos used to break-ins and ready to phone in anything suspicious. one way in, free-climbing a vertical wall three stories to an open window, which some of us funny west coast infiltrators have done. another, over a couple barbed wire fences and then in whatever door or window may have been left open (which they are no longer doing, as i discovered last night). and my personal favorite, the ninja approach, climbing up to the 2nd floor stairwell 20 feet away from the security guys watching tv -- admittedly thats a fun one. or i guess we could just break in... anybody have a SWAT entry ram i can borrow?
