Ah, I see. If you can find out more about it, I might go check it out sometime...

I was just out there last week. Still abandoned and mostly empty with the exception of some really gigantic CAT diesel engines and barrels of coolant. They have a big sign up that says "Property of Ellis County, No Trespassing." Some vandals broke out one of the big glass doors on one building and there are ways in to the others without breaking in if you look in the right spot. Be careful of the county Sherriff's sub station right across the street if you do go.

Wow, somebody needs to get inside that place.

I'll bet there are tunnels in there!

You know what? THERE ARE! And they are just TOO easy to get into.

The tunnels were a bit flooded when I was out there a few weeks ago. Still very cool to walk around in if you don't mind getting your feet wet.

Pics?
To my knowledge, no one else has made it into the 33 kilometers of completed tunnel. You're the first.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.

Oh yeah! Pics are a must. That would put you at the top of Texas explorers. Post em.

I tried taking pics but it was too dark for my crappy blackberry to pick up anything. I will have to take a trip back out after I get my new camera and some waders.

If you will go back and get the pics, I know someone who will loan a very good camera for darker situations.

as I hear tell only one other person besides greps has made it in and out of those tunnels alive

bklongdork, a mild mannered remedial math middle school teacher from Maypearl TX found an entrance and offered free guide service down the tunnel at one time

sadly, hes been banned from UER

Don't forget about Mayhem154... He got the pictures to prove he was there. Of course bklongdork probably showed him the way.

As I understand it, Bklongdork got banned for not following through on things he promised regarding some high level UER members. I have heard rumors that it was related to the 14 mile tunnel, but I don't know that for sure.

Either way though, it's great to have another member who has been in there. Since bklongdork never produced pictures, I can't wait to see yours Grep. All of us are excited about seeing the inside of that awesome place. Can you get some pictures maybe this weekend, since it's a 4 day weekend? I'm sure several of us would love to go with you. I know I would. I can't go till Saturday, but if you wanna go, I will be there.

I might go out there on Sunday to let the dogs run around in the tunnel(s).

If you send one in one direction, and the other in the other direction, and accelerate them to nearly the speed of light, would you end up with puppies when they collide?

Theoretically speaking yes, however, both are fixed so its a useless experiment.
