Spotted in last week's Lake Champlain Islander newsletter... FORT MONTGOMERY TOURS PLANNED The Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society will once again sponsor two tours to Fort Montgomery on Saturday October 11, rain or shine. The first tour will begin at 9 am and the second at 1 pm. The charge is $30 for historical society members and $35 for non-members. The very capable tour guide Jim Millard gives an excellent tour of the fort, along with narration from the beginning to end. Each person touring the Fort will also receive a signed copy of one of Jim's great books, A Lake Champlain icon - Fort Montgomery Through the Years. Comfortable clothing and shoes are suggested. Please call Geri at 518-297-2064 or e-mail [email protected] for reservations. Numbers for each tour are limited. It is hoped the lake water goes down enough to do the tour.
