i understand mingler's feelings on the matter, as i too have my reservations about hdr, but to be fair to Wolfheart, the quality of his hdr's i feel elevate them to art in some form. are they photographs? perhaps not in the true sense of the word. are they more often than not beautiful to look at and capture the atmosphere and mood that he was hoping for? absolutely. compare Wolfheart's work to most other hdr's out there, and you'll see the difference.

keep up what you're doing Wolfheart, because if it makes you happy, then that's what counts.

I understand your point, but: do you appreciate hdr's with film? Because hdr is really old thing and it have been used even before digital time. And other way I can't see much of Photoshopping in my hdr-creation, because I usually use Photomatix pro, no Photoshop at all with my hdr's (except those with wich I think I can get more mood by using some things).

I really appreciate your living in the old times. You probably appreciate all those photos with sloping horizon etc.? And I really would like to hear your opinion to that what do you think about old times film creationing - in old times photographers did get those photos 'to this world' in darkroom, and you must know that there can be done lot to photos too.

I myself see hdr as an possible. I shoot with just ordinary digicompact (I don't even dream of expensive camera system (and I don't need them and I put my money to beer or something nice more likely)), so hdr is just way to get more tone to my photos, get over my camera's limitations, get more closer to what I've seen.

Anyway I admit that too that last year I have became to use Photoshop to get 'unreal photos' too, because I have became to think that sometimes mood can be the word.

Anyway, these are 'matter of taste' cases, so this can be fight forever (which probably would be great stupidism), so let's say we are both right and lets laugh to each other where ever we are.

By the way: is there really hdr-lenses??? I really like to know how it works, because hdr is multiexposure, I mean putting more than one photo with different exposures to one. I really like to know how does hdr-lense work.

I have to admit that your art is very amazing. In a way i guess it's like "mastering" your photographs, like a musician mastering their studio or live recordings on mastering hardware or VST plugins. So there's a good analogy there. Also, you all seem so nice and cool, and I apologize for coming off as an A-hole. But photography is all about shooting on film and leaving it... ...Buuutt, if you can master it and make your productions look better (or sound better, in music), and if it allows us all to get closer to our introspective visions that we chase then that's awesome.

I do have to admist, I do a bit of home mastering on my home recorded music using VST plugins and Adobe Audition 2. So I guess it's no different than polishing or merging shots in a Photo editing program.

....and to note, Digital Imaging processing is a whole new talenting art of it's own, and I lack skills in that aspect. I was actually considering to create a portfolio of Photography+Digital Imaging Processing in the near future, right now I must focus on the fundamental etiquettes of photographing various things.

As for historical photography, I do know that they used film and very little (if any at all) editing was done. I also know that they had to cut film and paste it together for panoramic shots, just like cutting and pasting real tape with Analog music.

Thanks mate.

And do portfolio, please! (photographing shouldn't be so serious)

Anyway I think there have been this kind of conversations many times before, I mean before film they did use glassplates, so I am sure there were some people that did say it ain't photographing anymore because they use film.
