Dow fermentation rooms and police

Hiya I'm new here and my first question is just expressed curiosity about the fermentation rooms! My partner and I wandered in there while exploring and while we were getting insanely creeped out we noticed there was a complete lack of graffiti and tags ... later exploring dow online noticed there was next to no photos of that area ... I wondered why

so! have you been in that section .... what did you think, do you know why it seems to be an area less traveled??

the other thing is just a heads up .... while exploring we ran into 3 other adventurers... I guess the 5 of us roaming around taking pictures at night caused some one to see us and they called us in .... we didn't find an alternate route out so we just sucked it up and went to the cops waiting outside the entry point to the building... nothing much happened they ran our names and let us go ... especially my partner and I since all we had on us was photo equipment! However they seemed rather interested in students! they held the other three explorers cards for much much longer and were really grilling them with questions! seems like they've had problems with people from the nearby school..... and to think i was ready to give the excuse I'm just a student on a photo project to the cops!!!! not a good idea at the moment it seems!

feel free to respond in French! I can read and understand it well .... its just my written French is so horrible I figured I'd be better off sticking to English

These were taken by my Partner .... they show the area better ... frankly I was too damn freaked out to concentrate on taking good photos!

well that's cool the cops let you go. as for whether other people have been there, please see my profile pic

but yea it's so creepy and shit i left it for a return visit, which will probably be later this year.. if the entry-point-gods wish it

i think what grossed me out was that you have to use a flashlight, and you see all the dust in the air.. if you can call it dust..

I'd be curious to know when you went exactly just because the status of the place changed recently.

Also, there has been lots of cop activity around the Dow lately, more activity that I have seen in the last 15 years combined. So I think Dow needs to be left alone for a while...

And I think this will at least partly happen now that there is no more easy way in (which, it's sad to say, at this point in time and time and after the Kean Lemieux / throwing bricks episode, is a good thing...).

it was between 2 and 3 weeks ago in the middle of the week .... yea i felt foolish when i walked away after the cops left to find there was a police station only a block away LOL

it wasn't a planned excursion .... we meant just to walk around old Montreal and the peel basin to take pictures but walked past dow realized some of my friends had been in there and went to investigate ... we found a way in and from there just kept going .... I mean we had nothing no flashlight no water nada .... all part of the adventure

its a shame i hope to get back in sometime ... a to see it during the day ... its insane how much colors we missed and only say once i looked at my photos and well I lost the plastic door to the battery well of my flash up on the roof .... i would like to see if i could find it! who knows!

c'était l'odeur de l'abandon. Maintenant tu vas pouvoir trouver des bâtiments abandonnés seulement à l'odeur.

Ouais...

Nope not easy ... need some ninja skills and in my case cuz i'm not agile help of a very patient man!

[edit come to think of it ... when was the brick throwing incident ??? the cops seemed to be looking for something specific .... that didn't bat an eye at us ... just the students ... the only thing they asked us was how we found out about dow .... and i just replied i was just walking by and saw a hole and got curious ... which was true ]
