RIP Cedar Mains

I drove by Cedar Mains today and saw demolition equipment tearing the house down. All that was still standing of the house were the white columns in front and the stone fireplace in the rear. As of noon today, the garage and church were still standing. It was a great photography subject, I'm sure it will be missed. As sort of a memorial, I am attaching a couple of my favourite pics of Cedar Mains.

That's terrible. I was only there once. The barn is very unique and it's a shame if it's torn down.

I dropped by Cedar Mains this afternoon to document the demolition job. I tried to take some photos from angles similar to what I remembered shooting there last spring. Here are a couple of before/after shots.

Well done Faint Light. This is sad to see. The barn was especially unique.

That looks really tragic. I like how you showed the before/after shots though, it really conveys the fact that it's... well... Gone.

There a shot of what the fire place looked like last summer... I spent an afternoon exploring that place.

Here's some more shots from my visit there...
