The "Craig" tag is from Craid Nordinson. aka The coal tower killer. convicted of a double homicide for killing Kate and Mark,(RIP) with a 9mm hand gun back in I think It was 2000 or maby 2001. Kate was just 16 years old. Mark was only in town for a few days. To set the record straight, craig was not a train rider, he was a yuppie. often wore kakies, sandles, polo shirts, and a UVA hat. Before he started killing he lost his mind at yogaville, and started comming out of the closet.
Just wanted to point that out, the media reported it as a homeless trainhopper living in the coal tower killing 16 year old girls n stuff. In reality it was a loser yuppie that could not make it in the real world, tresspassed on some good people hanging out by the trax, and shot them for no apparent reason. Kind of like the dude from the movie "Falling down"
Now that I got that out of the way, back to some pictures.

In a place that's tagged to hell anyways, I'd love if somebody took the time to offer a tiny biography on those notable tags somewhere beneath them, "This tag was added c. 2000 by Craig Nordinson, later dubbed the "Coal Tower Killer" after killing two teenagers just outside this site" or something.
That said, #10 could be fixed up into a pretty interesting photograph with some very minor brushstrokes in photoshop of the light leak on the left side. Oh, and that photo above the Ratt Pizz one, that N/Z/Circle/Arrow tag is widely used to mean somebody squatted here and used it as a home for an extended period. Whether it was Nordinson or someone else, it seems the tower has been lived-in.

It was'nt a tag for Craig, It was a tag by Craig.
I belive he did make it up there a few times, But I remember Squatters being pissed that he trashed the place.
He was also held up there by the police after the murders, I was there watching the helocopters and snipers look for him. He got away that day, but was caught a few days later.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life without parole, he's not going to be "celebrated" - but that doesn't mean that local history shouldn't be shared with others who visit the Coal Tower in the future. Adolf Hitler's paintings still make the Sothebys rounds, the bullet holes in the University of Texas library tower are still displayed as "from his shootout", etc.

Ahh. My mistake. I misread that part. I thought some idiot had made the tag in his memory.
Watching it all go down must have been one hell of an experience.
