| | | I has a church! Have you seen it? < on 7/16/2008 1:05 PM >
| | | One of my very favorite locations. I know I have posted many pictures from it in the past but I keep trying to make them better. 1. The grieving families pews
2. The side aisle
3. Looking down from the alter at the family pews
4. The entire chapel from the alter
5. The organ
6. The pipes have fallen
7. view from the front door
8. The coffin container
9. the elevator in the basement at a distance
10. the coffin elevator
11. It looks like a hand!
12. Side door
13. a view from the alter of the organ
14. Details from a couple of stacked doors
15. Angel face

| | | Thanks guys. I love this place so much! I'm so glad that it has remained in decent shape, especially since it's been abandoned for 40 years. [last edit 7/16/2008 2:57 PM by NAN - edited 1 times]

| | | Thanks again. I just can imagine the coffin rising up through the floor back in it's day. It wasn't open very long. It was built in 1910. I don't know why is went abandoned.

I've read somewhere that there were structural problems with the building. It would have been more expensive to repair them then to stop using it or build a new one.

How bad could it be if it could withstand 40 years of abandonment and look better then most? I would like to see that article
