| | | This site is rife with history, not only is it one of the few existing examples of large scale Curtis Steam Turbines it was also used as a concert venue in the 80's. The final concert of Big Black was held here in 1988 and it was the last concert held at the steam plant too. Below is a video of the concert itself. http://vids.myspac...l&videoid=22037455 Thankfully now this is a museum which is open to the public four hours a month. 1.

| | | I'm sure the museum is nice 'n all, but it really should be turned into a shrine to Big Black.

| | | That wouldn't be a bad idea... If anything I wish they'd had a display of the various show fliers that took place at the Steam Plant rather than completely ignore that part of it's past.

| | | Woah. I would have died to see Albini and the band rock that place out. Songs about fucking... in a giant industrial space.

| | | Yes it was a power plant, usually the term "Steam Plant" refers to either a true steam plant for steam lines in a city core or a power plant using steam as the drive. Here's a little history on her and thanks for all the kind words everyone. http://www.nps.gov...el/seattle/s35.htm
