Anybody know the status of this place? I want to go on a road-trip sometime this summer, found this while researching and would like to know what its status is before I plan a road-trip around it...

I'm somewhat of a brewery junkie and this place looks pretty cool.

That particular building (a powerhouse) was rehabbed into condos or offices or warehouse space or something some time ago, but since then it's just been sitting empty and locked up, though still maintained (not abandoned). Recently there's been a lot of activity (work crews, etc.) around there and some other buildings that were part of the brewery--I would guess that they are finally being turned into condos.

I don't know if you have seen this already: http://www.forgott...ago.com/schoen.php

A bit of trivia about the building: "Around 1998, a group of investors decided to reopen the Powerhouse building because they discovered that the water that had been used in the brewery came from an ancient aquafer located hundreds of feet below the building, and that it was still available and pure. They tried to get a local bottled water company going using that water." To the best of my knowledge, the bottled water thing never happened.

Anyways, it's a neat building but I wouldn't plan a road trip around it.

It was to be more of a stop along the way rather than the main destination. Between that and a certain abandoned brewery in a nearby state, I figured it would be worth the ~4 hour drive. Hopefully being turned into condos is the worst that happens to it. If I go that way I'll probably still check it out, but you provided me with more info than I had found on it. Very informative, thank you.
