| | | Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the site, but my cousin and I took a 2 week long UE trip all across Ohio/PA/NY/MA. One of our stops was the American Laundry Machinery building, located in Rochester, NY. The building is now active, and no longer abandoned. I wanted to edit the page in the DB for it, or at least add a story to let people know, but I do no have sufficient access, I'd assume because I'm so new to the site. Just a heads up.

Negative. I was out there a matter of weeks ago, still abandoned as ever. The part you're referring too has never been abandoned, and has always been occupied. There is some kind of active factory/shipping business who owns about half of the building. There are still several other abandoned warehouses and smaller buildings, including the old motor control room and some other goodies
http://cat.org.au/~predator/approach.txt There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop... |

| | | I'd have to disagree. I was there less than a week ago, and there were trucks on all sides. I mean, I could be wrong, but there were cars and/or semi trucks in all the lots.

| | | Everything around it is active, but ALM itself is still very much abandoned.

| | | If your talking about the part that stored military parts, it has always been active. wide open but active. its empty now. I posted a thread with pics a while back. http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=55682 The second building is a super old steam generator building and it is slowly being stripped of scrap. The basement of the generator building was flooded but was drained a while back. I would stay clear of the basement though because it was and still is filled with an oily substance I suspect is PCB. You'll be playing a game of Milton Bradlys Operation trying to not touch the pipes and walls. [last edit 7/5/2008 9:23 PM by DeadBunny - edited 1 times]
Do not proffer sympathy to the mentally ill. Tell them firmly "I am not paid to listen to this drivel. You are a terminal fool". |
