I'm just outside of Richmond. The only real sites you could say I've explored would be Belle isle and the rubble and debris leftover from the development that used to be on the site of Gillies Park, now a disk golf course.
I've been trying to persuade some friends to explore the Fulton Gas works with me and maybe get them interested into going to some other sites.

There is no problem that cannot be solved by the suitable application of explosives.

Hi, just moved to DC from Kentucky, and looking for someone to show me around the area. I found a group on meetup, but haven't heard back. Please give me a shout if your like-minded, or know of any urbex groups in the metro area.

Howdy,

I grew up in Athens, TN but lived in Knoxville a while and went to school at TN Tech in Cookeville.

I've done this for a while and didn't know it was so popular until I found this site.

I've been past a lot of the places listed in the Tennessee section.

I currently live and work in Guinea, a small country in West Africa. And we've recently been in the news due to a presidential death and a coup.

Just wanted to say hey; so "Hey!"

Howdy!

I'm from Westminster, MD too and haven't done any definitive exploring yet - but I am planning a trip for this summer with some friends. I am currently in Erie for college.

Top o' the mornin!

I Live in Durham and Go to school in Raleigh; I grew up in the area and have been exploring on and off for years. I know several good spots in and around RTP, and I'm always looking for a buddy and/or new locations. Feel free to drop me a line if you're around and we can meet up, or at least exchange info on locations.

I'm pretty new to actually doing exploring, but I've drooled over people's photographs for a pretty long time. I've always loved exploring in old & abandoned places- it's like entering another world sometimes.

I live in Richmond, Va but attend school in Chesterfield.

I'm going to do some more exploring at my work, so hopefully I'll have some nice pictures to post eventually. I figure that if I get caught I can always claim that I got lost! (Not that the security guards really care- as long as you work here & you aren't trying to steal something or go into the actual restricted areas you're ok.)

Hello. I'm new to the site in general, and have been working on putting together stories, galleries, and videos. I feel that they have been improving in content and quality. I'll be sure to add them to this part of the forum first for all my fellow mid-Atlantic explorers! If any of you are in Southeast VA or Northeast NC, and would like to join me, just send me a message!

Hey everyone! Charleston SC native here, though in Rock Hill at the moment for school. New to the web site but have been exploring for years (dad got me into it as a kid). Looking for interesting sites in the NC/SC region and for others interested in going with me. Hit me up with any suggestions or if you'd just like to chat.

Hey. I currently live in Richmond but am from Roanoke, VA. Done some exploration in both places, but have always been too busy/lazy to post on here. I am really craving some full membership, though, so I guess it's time to get behind the mule.

Oh yeah, and I've really been kicking myself for not going to the meetup around here last month.

Hello to all,

I recently moved to Raleigh NC from Cincinnati OH. I have been exploring old factories, houses, and tunnels in cincy for about 10 years. One of the coolest places I have been in was the abandoned Cincinnati subway and the Mariemont central heating plant. I have not explored since I moved to Raleigh but would like to find someone who knows the area and could show me around. I am down with sketchy places and underground but I am not too keen on heights.

Hi everybody! I am in Spartanburg, S.C. and want to explore. I just posted my intro in the rookie forum on page 61 so I'll just direct you there. But I will say that I'd love to meet other explorers and have the time and transportation; usually Tuesday-Friday anywhere southeast and local day trips sat, sun, mon. My interest for such places in rooted in my obsession for the 'post apocalyptic' look. I love beat up ugly buildings and their haunting atmosphere and movies like Mad Max, New Barbarians, the art of zdislaw Beksinski etc...
