I have a couple lenses but I used a Tamron AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) for all these shots.

Weird... I just won one on ebay... came in the mail yesterday, still haven't shot with it (besides some test shots)

I honestly can't think of anything to criticize. I love the exaggerated color in 6. Maybe you could have tried shooting a little more to the left in 2 for a slightly more interesting angle? None of the posts are fully in focus in that picture, so there isnt much visual reference.

1) I love this shot, nice lighting, nice colors, just a nice shot...

2) Does nothing for me. I feel like too much of the frame is blur. I know the effect you were going for, but not quite there.... Also slightly too dark for my taste.

3) Interesting shot, interesting color, but I'm not crazy about it. I feel like it's missing a so what...

4) I like this shot... possibly a tad bit on the dark side, but overall a great shot!

5) My eye seems to naturally be wondering to the toilet, but that's out of focus. It's an interesting choice of focus points, not what I would have chosen, but never the less...

6) Great colors, but perhaps slightly overdone? I also feel as though maybe the composition is missing a clear focus point....

Just my two cents...

01 - Visually its fine, I was just curious why you stopped down so much and used a high ISO since there wasn't really any depth needed.

02 - Looks like the left most banister is the focal point, but its half out of frame. Next time I would have made the second or third one the focal point if you stick to f/2.8.

03 - This one is set up fine, but I would have stopped down a little for added sharpness in the detail of the wall.

04 - Great the way it is.

05 - Would have brought it out just a little more to get more the door knob in frame.

06 - I like this one the way it is too.

I assume you were using a tripod, but why such short exposures? I'd take 'em all down to ISO 100 next time.

I become capability. I become the horror. What we know we can become only in our heart of darkness. It's my gift. It's my curse.

#2 the focus isn't perfectly clear true. I was going for more of the dark look on most of the images.

#3 was more of darker image as well. I could probably darken it a little to have more of that look. I agree, it is a bit plain, too little going on.

#5 I liked the door on this one, more texture with the peeling paint. Just a toilet shot doesn't offer too much imho.

#6 When I look at this one after your suggestion, I think the bow is a bit too bright and takes most of the attention. I might go back and adjust it, see what
I can do with it.

Thanks for all the suggestions and good pointers!!

I used a high ISO on the first shot because we were inside there was no light at all. The light that is there was from a flash light. I suppose I didn't really need the ISO that high.
I used a tripod for all of them. The other shots I has a shorter exposure seeing that there was plenty of light. I'll trying going down to 100 ISO next time and see how that fairs.
Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.

I see. There was only one shot on 1600, so I was confused.

I LOVE number 6 but the red is a little too bright, tone it down just a tiny tiny bit

Still we smile and deny that we're cursed.
But of all our iniquities ignorance may be the worst.

I love close-up shots! #1 and #5 are my favs. The Sigma DC 17-70mm lens = the shit for these types of photos. You should check it out. Not that you seem to need a new lens; these shots are great!

I really like the colors in 3 and 4. Interesting angle in 5. I love 6, but like Senseriffic said, the red in the bow at the top is a bit too saturated. I'd tone it down to match the other red.. thing.

Props on the 20d / Tamron 28-75 combo, thats my rig.

Love the unusual focus selections, that thing is very much my bag, especially the door and the soft toilet. Frustrating the viewer like that and putting the focus on the darker part I feel makes the picture more engaging - there is a natural tension there.
