Point of interest: They've been threatening to close Coney for a while now. Thor Equities is the devil, and they extended the lease Coney is allowed for this season, but a lot of stuff has already packed up and didn't reopen when they were pending a total shutdown starting this spring.

that said, benny season is indeed upon us. get your official benny hunting license and be prepared to rub elbows down here on the beautiful Jersey shore with every greaseball ginzo fuck that can escape the island. This is the time of year when i am soooooo thankful to no longer work in a bar near the shore.

West side rail yard, atlantic yard, ground zero, all of those mega development projects are stalled or dragging. Much of the high end crap apartments that have been developed are sitting vacant. Sales are flat at best.
I'd say maybe in 2-3 years if the economy picks up. Even if, you can still buy at someplace like the former JCMC and get way more bang for your buck, and live closer to manhattan, without the reality that much of Coney Island is still a ghetto. The map of local projects in the local NYPD station Muster Room showing gun and drug arrests is almost as hilarious as it is sad.

I'm sure they won't keep up security forever. You know as soon as you can get in it's going to get trashed and tagged. Just stop by the store and pick up a steak for the little puppies :-p
