I'm 90% sure this is the Matanuska car dump I mentioned. The buildings to the north are beautiful downtown Chikaloon (one general store, one redneck bar). The road leads down to the river bank, and the cars are in the woods near that arrow.
I'm pretty sure it's public access to the river bank, and the store owner said we could camp there for free.

Just wanted to confirm this site. I stopped by there to check it out yesterday on my way back from Anchorage; it's right down that road and to the left, and it goes WAY back, I didn't even go as far as I could see cars. The only thing I'd like to add is that there are actually NO TRESPASSING signs back there, but no one bothered us. Will post pics later...

Wow, I never noticed your reply until just now. To answer both questions: One, that little incident happened a while ago and involved one of my friends who was not really into the illegal side of ue and is no longer on the site. Two, I took the photos down to open up more space on my hosting site as I didn't think anybody would be looking at the thread anymore. In the future I will post the location in the DB. Sorry for the inconvenience.
